SURFING
A variety of beaches in Pedasi to satisfy the tastes of all surfers, beginners or experts. Playa El Lagarto and Playa El Toro, both are 10 minutes from the town of Pedasi. A little more removed this Destiladeros beach, well known among surfers. And just 30 minutes this Venao beach, the most famous and sought after by all who love this sport. It is the location of choice for major international surfing competitions. For this year 2011 has been chosen as Billabong ISA World Surfing Games place (June 25 to July 3).
WHALES AND DOLPHINS
The richness of plankton and fish deep waters of Pedasi converted into one of the favorite places for various types of whales. The best months to observe are June to August. You can find humpback whales, beaked whales, blue whales (the largest creature on our planet with a maximum of 180 tons and up to 33 meters (108 feet) in length), fin whales (the second largest whale), Pilot Whales and last but not least is often the beautiful encounter with dolphins.
FISHING
For fishing enthusiasts, Pedasi is the ideal place. World renowned for its sport fishing that stands out in ease and variety of fish you can find. You do not have to be an expert in the field for the thrill.
Throughout the year you can find fish such as amberjack, sailfish Pacific or marlin, rooster fish, grouper and other the rich and the snapper snapper. From November to April, surely you can catch the famous golden fish (also called mahi-mahi or dorado), tuna, bigeye tuna, yellowfin tuna, wahoo among the most sought after. Pedasi is also known as “The Tuna Coast” and is the best salt water to catch these specimens, which are noted for their speed that makes them perfect for sport fishing charter.
